Safeguard Iowa Partnership has established a model for private sector representation in an emergency operations center (EOC) designated for a representative from the business community. The fundamental goal of the SIP-EOC liaison program is to continue to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the state’s response capabilities.
The goal can be achieved in two ways: resource management and gathering and sharing of information.
This is a volunteer position subject to your availability in case of an emergency. Participation in the state or county EOC requires approval of your employer.
While experience in Business Continuity or Emergency Management is recommended, it is not required as there may be employees in other areas of the organization with the desire to assist during a disaster and have the necessary skill sets to serve as a liaison.

If not activated to a county or state EOC, anticipate 20 hours (or less) a year for training and exercise participation to maintain your proficiency.
