Description: On May 22, 2011, an EF-5 tornado destroyed much of Joplin, Missouri including one of two acute care hospitals. St. John’s Regional Medical Center was destroyed and required immediate evacuation of the entire building. Freeman Health System responded with primary responsibility to manage the victims of the storm resulting in overwhelming medical and trauma surge. The response required extraordinary response from the two hospitals and support from the entire Missouri hospital community. This webinar will share the story highlights and include lessons learned from the local, regional and state association perspective.
