The Iowa Museum Association, State Historical Society of Iowa, State Library of Iowa and Iowa Conservation & Preservation Consortium have partnered to produce a series of disaster awareness workshops in 2011.

Topics to be covered:

  • How to prepare for any emergency
  • Who might be involved in planning?
  • What are the first steps toward recovery?
  • What resources are available in Iowa?
  • How to identify priorities
  • What supplies are needed?
  • Volunteer assistance issues
  • Continuity of Operations
  • Insurance - how to pay for recovery

Designed for archivists, county recorders, genealogists, library staff, museum workers, volunteers, and anyone who cares about preserving our material heritage. General public is welcome.
