The United States Coast Guard is sponsoring cyber security training August 5-6, 2015, in Davenport, Iowa. The training is free. Travel and per diem will be the responsibility of the attendees.
This training is intended for those with a IT responsibilities, security responsibilities or emergency management responsibilities within their company. Class size is limited so please follow registration instructions in the following email body if interested.

The Scott County EOC is hosting a 2-day FREE DHS Cybersecurity training on Wednesday and Thursday August, 2015. This class is targeted for Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) Regulated facility/vessel security officers and AMSC Members. The minimum required participants to have the class are 35 and the maximum participants for this event are 50. Once all AMSC members and Facility Security Officers have had an opportunity to attend, we will open up any available slots on a first come first serve basis. If we get more than 50 personnel interested, I may look to adding a second class later in the year.

AWR-136: Essentials of Community Cyber Security, 4 hour class (First Day, 4-hours AM):
This half-day training course places the issues of cyber security in a community context and demonstrates how cyber events can impact, prevent, and/or stop business operations, and emergency responses. The course covers cyber threats, vulnerabilities and countermeasures, explains how computer systems and networks are vulnerable, and how this vulnerability affects the organization. (4-hours total)

MGT-384: The EOC's Role in Community Cyber Security, 12-hours (First Day, 4-hours PM; Second Day 8-hours):
This 2-day non-technical course is designed to provide an awareness of how cyber events can impact a community, an Emergency Operations Center, and our daily lives. In this course, participants will discover the roles and responsibilities needed to detect, prevent, and respond to a cyber security incident. Using past cyber events, participants will explore how the EOC and community would plan for and manage information and resources needed for a cyber event and understand how cyber can be used to affect, disrupt, and/or complicate emergency responses. (12-hours total)
