Join us for a tabletop workshop targeted for the public and private sectors regarding a snow emergency.
In conjunction with Cerro Gordo County Emergency Management Agency, Safeguard Iowa Partnership would like to request your participation at the tabletop workshop.
Background of Scenario:
A snow emergency is a term used to indicate the active response plan when a snow storm severely impacts a city, county or community in the United State. Schools, universities, government offices, airports, public buildings and private companies may close during a snow emergency. Snow emergencies are declared as one of three levels, each level defines the recommended or mandated actions of the general public due to severe winter weather. Typically, a snow emergency is declared by the mayor of other high official. The declaration is usually issued after the winter storm has impacted a city or county.
Purpose of the Workshop:
The purpose of this workshop is to provide public and private partner participants an opportunity to integrate public-private collaboration into a statewide response to a disaster. The workshop will focus on the preparedness, sustainability and response of the critical infrastructure and key resources during a significant ice and snow event. Finally, it provides an opportunity for the partners to strategize with peers through the sharing of personal experiences and lessons learned.
